Greetings, delegates.

Welcome to the Committee Against Torture (CAT). My name is Helen Manríquez Chagolla, and I will be serving as your President. It is an honor to lead this committee and be part of your MUN experience.

I would also like to introduce the members of the chair who will be accompanying you throughout the conference. Emanuel Fregoso Ramos will be your Moderator, guiding you through the sessions and debates, while Javier Omar Trujillo will be your Conference Officer, supporting you with the logistical aspects of the committee.

I hope that throughout this experience, each of you will actively participate, collaborate with other delegates, and work together to develop meaningful solutions to the issues presented in our topics. More importantly, I hope this committee allows you to strengthen your diplomatic, public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking skills, which can be useful both inside and outside the conference.

Together with the Secretariat, our goal is to provide you with a space where you can engage in meaningful discussions, exchange different perspectives, and address important issues related to the prevention of torture and the protection of human rights.

If you have any questions or concerns before or during the conference, please do not hesitate to contact us or the Secretariat. We will be happy to assist you.

We look forward to seeing you soon, delegates. Good luck, and enjoy the experience!
